The following behaviors are considered harassment and are unacceptable within our community:
Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person. This includes wishing harm on someone.
Calling a person or a group of people offensive names, mocking who they are, or using degrading nicknames, even when you think it is friendly banter.
Posting NSFW material, sexually explicit or graphically violent images, links, or text. Including avatars and usernames.
Posting other people's personally identifying information: real names, addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, or private conversations and photos shared without their consent.
Insults or hate speech based on gender, race, religion, disability, nationality, or sexual orientation.
Sexual comments, jokes, advances, or repeated romantic interest that the other person has not invited. If someone asks you to stop, stop immediately.
Posting or requesting content subject to copyright: pirated books and courses, cracked software, or leaked paid material.
Spam or flooding: unsolicited advertising, referral links, self-promotion outside the channels meant for it, and repetitive messages that bury the conversation.
Do not direct message someone unless they've granted permission. Ask your question in the public channel first, the answer usually helps others too, and take no for an answer.
Discussions on controversial religious or political topics. They rarely end well in a technical community, so please keep them out of our channels.
Encouraging, defending, or organizing any of the behavior listed here is treated exactly the same as doing it yourself.
Attempts to send messages with the intent to blackmail, annoy, scam, or disturb others, in public channels.
Friendly and professional is the default tone here. There's no need to be mean or rude to make a point, and newcomers deserve extra patience.
Every channel has a purpose. Starting a conversation in the wrong one makes it harder for people to follow along and harder for the next person to find the answer.
Pick the single most relevant channel and ask there. Posting the same thing in multiple topics splits the answers and clutters the community.
People come from different backgrounds and experiences. Argue with the idea and bring reasons for it, never attack the person holding it.
